Blog

Hello

I am working with this wonderful NGO for the last 2-3 years as and when I get time and also during my vacations. the prime motif of this NGO is – imparting education to the children coming from the down most strata of society, for  their all round growth of those who could never dream of getting education and become like us. It is a wonderful experience for me to teach these children. It is of immense pleasure to play with them, to listen their thoughts about life…. really a new world for me which has changed a lot of my thought process. it is not only peaceful but also seem to provide a meaning to my life as well when I am with them. It is really soothing and exciting to see them growing in such a different atmosphere. Alas everyone the world could contribute like this to eradicate illiteracy and poverty from this beautiful earth.

It is true, illiteracy is the real cause poverty and slavery which in turn results into human miseries. If  we the well off people pay a little attention to these people who lead an  illiterate life, I am sure wonders can happen on the earth…………….. But I unable to think as to why we all do not think like this and remain busy in ourselves. No one thinks about the causes of such illiteracy so no body thinks about solutions to this gigantic problem that has made more than 70 % population of the world illiterate…………….

Any way, this year also in the summer vacations, I have joined this organisation to be with these innocent children and would be sharing my experience on my blogs at least for the time I remain here. ….

Thanks

Pencil and Eraser- A real Inspiring Story

Some of us have already lost either one or both or all of our “Erasers” But it’s still nice to be reminded of them!
   Pencil: I’m sorry !

Eraser: For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.
Pencil: I’m sorry because you get hurt because of me.
Whenever I made a mistake, you’re always there to erase it.
But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself.
You get smaller and smaller each time.
Eraser: That’s true. But I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to do this.
I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong.
Even though one day, I know I’ll be gone and you’ll replace me with a new one,
I’m actually happy with my job.
So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.
Every one can find this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational.
Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil.
They’re always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes.
Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller / older, and eventually pass on.
Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse),
But parents are still happy with what they do for their children,
And will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.
All my life, I’ve been the pencil.
And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day.
For I know that one day,
All that I’m left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have.
“We never know the love of our parents for us
Until we have became parents”

Let’s do Ek Koshish One Attempt- to make those happy who really sacrificed for us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talent Hunt by EK
Ek Koshish has been engaged actively in providing the education to those class of children which are not paid any attention by their parents as well as the Society. Ek Koshish accepts the children which have never been to any school and their parents can not afford them to go school for various reasons including the reason these children are the basis of their bread and butter as they has to work in their infant age for them in inhumane conditions. As such their childhood is spoiled and sacrificed due to their family needs and social backwardness. Games, sports, music etc which are essential for their growth are totally alien things for them.
However EK, with its attempts has started sports and music activities for the children who are coming  from this neglected class and hope that results would be better and EK may succeed in getting out some prominent children who could at least fulfill their dreams with proud and dignity.
In such efforts, EK has recognized talent of Cricket in one boy (EK do not want to publicize his name yet to give the whole word a surprise) who always dreams of Cricket. He wants to become Tendulkar. EK is trying its best to materialize his dream. Presently he is learning in a famous cricket academy and is preparing for playing a big tournament in future.   We wish him all the best!
Similarly we are trying to recognize other talents in children of this neglected class. And hope in our efforts, we shall succeed.

Children from Poor and Inhumane Background Going School for the First Time

Ek Koshish feels immense pleasure to write this blog that our constant efforts to make the children coming from the very very poor and inhumane background of society, eligible to take admissions in an English Medium Modern School.
Ek Koshish has been providing coaching and training continuously to 23 children since long for making them capable of receiving proper education at public schools so that they become successful in their lives and be equally placed in the society and get rid of the curse of poverty and inhumane livings. Out of these 23 children, seven children shown in the photos above have qualified for admissions in Dr Karam Vir Public School, an English Medium Public School at Faridabad. Ek Koshish has fully sponsored their entire admissions and monthly tuition fees and other expenses to be incurred on their education (uniforms, bags, books and other stationary etc) as their parents could not have afforded any of their expenses. Most of the parents are daily wage earners and seek the work on daily basis. They also belong to farfetched areas where life is too tough and harsh having always lack of even basic amenities and facilities and no education at all.
It was a matter of proud for entire team of Ek Koshish to see the parents of children so happy on the occasion of admissions of their children. They were very excited to see their children going for the first time to any school. It was visible on their faces that they could believe to see that their children would be admitted in an English medium public school in which children of the rich class also take education. During discussion with them, the parents of these children told that as far as their memory goes back, no one in their entire family had ever gone to any kind of school what to say of public school. All parents of these children are illiterate knowing no alphabet (except one i.e. father of Yash who attended primary school in village upto 2nd standard in village). The parents of these children have now started dreaming to make their children Engirneer, Doctor, Government officer etc. May God bless them to see their dreams turning out to be true!
To see the ecstasy, joy and happiness and other mixed emotions of happiness (which is very difficult to express in words) on the innocent faces of these children, on the occasion of their admission, was really a great moment in our lives which one can really equate with ‘bliss’.
The entire team of “Ek Koshish” is very very thankful to all who have contributed in this “one attempt” and further hope that the same co-operation shall be rendered to us for all such humane efforts dedicated to society. Ek Koshish is highly thankful to its volunteers specially Mrs Sunita and Mrs Daisy who have contributed a lot by putting thier much needed efforts to make these children capable for public schools. We are also thankful to Mrs Sunita who has in addition to her other efforts, taken the responsibility of Kiran also.
